Progress To Date: November 17, 2006
We’ve been busy. Since we received the permit, we’ve completed the underpinning and installation of foundation footings at the site. There is mud, mud, and mud everywhere, but after inspection, we should be in position to get started on the interior framing. Jean Freeman, our interior design consultant, has selected and ordered cabinetry and tile finishes for all the baths. We are probably going to have to replace the water and sewer lines to the building. This involves cutting the sidewalk and possibly the street. If we need to cut the street, our project may be delayed by a District ordinance that prohibits excavation in public space (the streets and sidewalks) from November 1 to March 31st.
